= Rhys Darby =

Rhys' Tour is in full swing in Aotearoa and he's been featured in lots of articles and participating in Podcast and Radio Shows all over!

Preview card for the Beat Magazine article, featuring a photo of Rhys and the headline “Rhys Darby on the novelty of New Zealand: ‘The little guy who’s punching his way out’”. Below is a snippet from the article: “But it’s where he’ll be kicking off his international standup tour The Legend Returns, in March 2025. It’s a joyful return and a milestone ...”

One of the podcasts he was on recently was Wilosophy! You can listen below, but there's also some clips on IG! Our friends over at @adoptourcrew also put up some clips on their Bluesky as well!

Screenshot of the episode description on the Wilosophy podcast website. It reads, “Wilosopy: Rhys Darby – ‘Unapologetically, Be Yourself.’ Wilosophy Episode # 3 19. Rhys Darby (Flight of The Concords, Yes Man, Hunt For The Wilderpeople) is bringing his new physical stand-up comedy show to Australia. Before he arrives, Wil finds out how Rhys' ‘slow and steady’ career approach has brought him success, how his time in the army shaped his discipline, and why Jim Carrey tried to make his son laugh. Rhys also reflects on his role as a New Zealand comedian on the world stage, and the hilarious countrymen he's loved to work alongside.” Next to the description is a graphic featuring the podcast title and an illustration of its host, Australian comedian Wil Anderson, with an owl perched on his arm.

Tired of Rhys yet? ME NEITHER! It's like a gift every day! There's also a New Cryptid Factor Episode! #105 The Robot Host Issue!

Screenshot from The Cryptid Factor's Patreon page. At the top is a media player that shows the 3 hosts on a video call, and below that is the episode title, date and description: “Number 105: The Robot Host Issue. Thursday, March 20, 2025. Well well well, let’s all give a warm virtual welcome to TCF's newest host! He’s so switched on, it’s almost like he’s made for it. Although, we have enough host action going on to keep us entertained with just our regular three: We have a time travelling child host coming back to cosplay as other hosts, a normal travelling host on a mission to coat tail another host, and a celebrity host and a not-so celebrity host meeting celebrity non-hosts, giving celeb-envy to another host … host hosty hosts! In this flotilla of information you will sail past the first Loch Ness Monster sighting of 2025, adorable wooly mice created by a whole company of genetically engineered employees, national cheesy naan crazes, and World-Record breaking vegetables making some oddly familiar noises.”

= Kristian Nairn =

Kristian just sending some love and hinting at some Spektrum updates!

Selfie of Kristian Nairn. He is looking directly at the camera with a slight smile. His hair is dyed dark blue, and he is wearing a black leather jacket. = Vico Ortiz =

Vico's been very busy with Today in Gay and other projects!

Bluesky post by @ vico-ortiz.bsky.social‬: “Ready to record another episode of Today in Gay surrounded by Queer Art by Queer Artists that I have had the honor of getting to know in various conventions these past 2.5 years (Holding Back Happy Tears Emoji, Heart Hands Emoji). Having y’all’s art on my walls while delivering news is a salve to my heart (Hug Emoji).” The post includes a selfie of Vico sitting at their desk, smiling and making a peace sign with one hand. Many pieces of art hang on the wall behind them. Among other things, there is OFMD fanart, plant-themed art, and a paper fan with “Daddy AF” written on it. The room is lit by 2 windows on the adjoining wall, next to Vico's desk, decorated with clear window decals featuring a botanical prism pattern that refracts the light, throwing little spots of rainbow light all across the wall and Vico themself.

Screenshot showing 4 episodes of the Today In Gay podcast, as listed on their Substack page. March 20: “Tiny Desert Village in Spain a Gay Wedding Destination, Veteran Affairs Rolls Back Care for Trans Veterans, and More.” Length 30:26. March 19: “Wisconsin Man in Favor of Anti-Trans Bill Apologizes, Hungary to Ban Budapest Pride, and Wokeness is Scapegoated Again.” Length 31:09. March 18: “’The Drag Queen Test’ Explains Economic Growth, KY's Congress Does Overtime to Pass Hateful Bills, and More.” Length 33:45. March 17: “Gay Panic Ensues Over RFK Popper Crackdown, Chappell Roan's Service Top Anthem, and More!” Length 34:12. Each episode title is written next to a small media player that shows an illustration of the 2 podcast hosts, with a different-colour background for each episode.

Vico's also been keeping us fed with more BTS on their paid Patreon! Here's a couple previews!

Still from a behind-the-scenes video shared by Vico, showing David Fane as Fang. He is sitting in the ship's galley with a napkin tucked into the front of his spiky leather jacket, holding what looks like a cracker or piece of bread while looking at something out of frame. On the table in front of him sits a dainty porcelain teacup.

Still from the second video Vico shared, also from the galley set. In this one, Samba Schutte (Roach) stands next to a table, leaning forward onto the tabletop with his hip cocked. He is pouting at the camera with his eyebrows raised. A large, round fruit platter and plates with buttered slices of toast sit on the table.

= James Tom =

Gonna be in San Francisco on May 6th? Why not stop in and see James Tom, one of our dear writers for their stand up! Get tickets here!

Bluesky post by @ JamesTomXO.bsky.social‬: “San Francisco! I'm coming home. please give me the opposite reaction u gave elon & chappelle (link to event ticket site).” The post includes the poster for the show, with the text “Jes Tom, May 6, Punch Line San Francisco. Tickets available at PunchlineComedyClub.com”, and a photo of a shirtless James clutching his face, brow furrowed.

= Bronson Pinchot =

Bronson, our villainous Ned Low, was out at "The Residence" Red carpet event with Netflix! I ran out of space for videos on this post, but Bronson also posted a video of him and his pup you should go watch here on IG for some serotonin!

Bronson Pinchot stands on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at a red carpet event for the Netflix show “The Residence”, looking off to the side with a slight smile. He is wearing a black overcoat with a white floral pattern and greyish-brown lapels over a suit jacket in the same pattern, a vest in the same colour as his lapels, and a black turtleneck, paired with dark trousers and black heeled boots.

Another photo of Bronson at the same event, now standing on a blue carpet. He is looking to the side at something out of frame and is gripping one of the lapels of his jacket with one hand.

= Dominic Burgess =

Our dear Jeffrey Fettering, Dominic, is going to be in Hulu's GOOD AMERICAN FAMILY! Here's a clip!

As a bonus, Dominic is thinking of us and sending us kitty love <3

Bluesky post by @ DominicBurgess.bsky.social‬: “Good morning, and let’s all have a great week (2 Black Cat emojis).” Attached is a photo of two of Dominic's cats, one licking the other's face.

= Nicola Dove =

More wonderful BTS photos and memories from one of our S2 Photographers-- Nicola Dove! These feature both before and after shots of specific scenes.

Behind-the-scenes photo of a scene in Season 2, Episode 4: Stede's and Blackbeard's crews stand facing each other, holding weapons to each other's throats. A clapperboard is being held up between them and the camera. David Fane (Fang), Samson Kayo (Oluwande) and Samba Schutte (Roach) are at the front, with the rest of the cast in the background. They are all in position, their postures stiff as they wait for “action” to be called.

Photo of the same scene, taken from a slightly different angle and without the clapperboard, directly after “action” has been called. The cast are now standing less stiffly and staring at each other with more intensity than before the take started.

"Don't get too close to Rhys Darby with a sword. 😉Behind the scenes on Our Flag Means Death S2"Photo of Rhys Darby as Stede in the OFMD Season 2 opening scene. He is seen from the side, standing on a beach in his campy swashbuckler outfit and a full beard, looking down with a frown on his face and holding a sword in one outstretched hand.

BTS photo of Rhys in the same scene, taken from a different angle. Rhys is still holding the same pose, but we are now looking at him from the opposite side and from a bit further away, so we can see that he is pointing the sword at a camera in front of him, which is mounted at about hip level on a robotic camera arm.

== The New Uni-Con ==

Guess who's joining The New Uni-Con in London June 20th - 22nd? Why it's none other than, "Mr. Cool", Nathan Foad! Why is it I don't live in the UK again?

== Our Drag Means Slay ==

My sincerest apologies to the Our Drag Means Slay folks, I've been so behind on these I'm not sure there's enough time to still send raffle prizes you'd like to donate-- but if so-- they're still accepting raffle prizes for their April 12 show in Chicago! They need them in hand by 04/10!   All proceeds from the raffle, and part of the ticket sales go to The Lighthouse Foundation!

Instagram post by @ OurDragMeansSlay. The caption reads, “The raffle prize pile grows by the day! (2 Eyeball emojis) You gotta be in it to win it so grab your tickets to our show now! (2 emojis: Ticket, Link) in our bio! (2 emojis: Ticket, Pirate Flag) We are still taking donations for raffle prizes if you have something to offer! We need items in hand by 4/10. == Articles ==

As always, thank you to our amazing crewmates over at @adoptourcrew for keeping us up to date on articles featuring our favorite show!

Bluesky post by @ AdoptOurCrew.bsky.social‬, quoting the Tell-Tale TV listicle: “Even though the show was canceled only two seasons into its run, Stede and Blackbeard’s relationship will live on to be one of the most iconic queer romances in the world of TV comedies.” (Pirate Flag emoji, Two Hearts emoji) The post includes a screenshot from the listicle; description by AOC: Ed and Stede embracing on the beach with the title “5. Stede and Blackbeard (Our Flag Means Death)”.

Bluesky post by @ AdoptOurCrew.bsky.social‬: “An # OurFlagMeansDeath mention and a shout-out to the very loyal fanbase in this TechRadar.com article sharing great comedies on Max with a score of over 90 % on RottenTomatoes.com.” The post includes a link and a screenshot, which reads, “Our Flag Means Death was cut short after two seasons, and I felt similar frustrations here as I did when I read about the nine canceled Netflix shows in 2024 that you should still watch. A cancelation does not mean a show is bad quality, but sometimes seeing a show come to an abrupt end can put people off. Still, Our Flag Means Death has a very loyal fanbase that continues to fight its corner, and the two seasons that aired are well worth your time.”

More of the OFMD Craft Fair featured on INTO!

Preview card for the Into article. The headline “Our Flag Means Death creator donates to a craft fair raising funds for trans youth” is written on a photo of Stede, Edward and Chauncey on the deck of the Revenge. Stede and Chauncey stand facing each other, while Ed stands in the middle, looking worriedly at Stede. Text below reads: “Doing the work!”
