Both of our murder wives are in the news today-- (sorry I have to use it, it's the technical term for Mary and Ann), Rachel House's directoral film Te Maunga has been awarded Best Feature film by the Festival Cinema Jeune Public! According to Rachel it's "a festival that aims to open young viewers to the world, awaken their critical gaze and develop their artistic sensitivity in the region of Aisne in France."

The Palm Springs International Film Festival has also selected it for the 2025 line up!

Hoooweeee, what a week! Slowly catching up on things, apparently I'm just perpetually 4 - 6 days behind right now. But you know what? That's life sometimes! I appreciate all yalls patience!

I saw this really cute love note from NikkiMiles on Instagram and it started me thinking about pressure and how much it can affect us. Something I wanted to remind everyone, including myself,-- is that pressure is great for turning carbon into diamonds, and while human beings are 18% carbon, social and emotional pressure doesn't do the same thing to us as immense pressure does to pure carbon.

The kind of pressure we deal with day to day from our bosses, and our family, and our society, in small doses can push us to be something more than we want to be, but in large doses can really start to weigh on us and cause major problems with our physical and mental health.

This is just a gentle reminder that you are already shiny, and unique, and invaluable! You don't need crushing pressure to make you into something society or your family wants you to be-- you already are that wonderful thing! So please rest if you can-- let some things go if you need to. You are so much more than your responsibilities and burdens. You are shiny, and beautiful, and strong, and brilliant, and you are allowed to rest.
